I really didn’t know that I was to be given a room, and bunch of books for students who will arrive the next Monday till I checked in at the office.
The new V.P. (Mr. Interview) I realized, was a former football varsity coach from the other High school, our middle school feeds into the rival high school from the same district …
“Get your room ready, here is your books, book number list, and locker numbers to issue”
He told me like in way that sounded like ”get down and give me 50”
Did I decorate my bulletin boards?
Did I have informative science posters to put up?
Or even a banner stating ‘welcome back’?
No, no, no and well you know the answer…. If you’re asking why I didn’t decorate?
I think I would rather eat.
Pay bills.
Buy clothes for my daughter.
Purchase gas for getting to school (work)
Not owe on rent on the duplex

I haven’t been paid yet I had till the end of next month. The Boy’s Club last check would have to see me through...
It was close to the end of August and September’s end was a long way.
